Analysis of 6 GI Virus

The GI virus panel detects the genetic material (RNA or DNA) of some of the more common pathogens. It is an ideal test to evaluate the presence of different viruses that cause respiratory and especially intestinal symptoms (diarrhea, vomiting, cramps, dehydration, etc.) in both children and adults.

· Adenovirus (AdV)
· Astrovirus (AstV):
· Norovirus GI (NoVI)
· Norovirus GII (NoVII)
· Rotavirus GI (RotV)
· Sapovirus GI (Sapo V)

A fresh stool sample is collected in a clean container. The stool sample should not be contaminated with urine or water.
